National Sauna Day
Invitation to the 29th National Sauna Day, "Just bathe the sauna". A hot weekend that enriches body and soul in wonderful surroundings at Kukkolaforsen, 12–14 June 2026.
Programme for the Sauna Weekend at Kukkolaforsen, 12–14 June 2026
Friday 12 June, 12:00–15:00: Sauna council training. A review of all the ingredients of the sauna. Lunch included. SEK 450/person. Sauna excursion: departure 16:00 from Kukkolaforsen, transport included. Visit to the new venue "KAMOS" on Mount Aavasaksa. Sauna and dinner SEK 980/person. Saturday 14 June, National Sauna Day at Kukkolaforsen: 11:00 guided salmon netting (SEK 100/person); 13:00 visit to the farm shop and meeting the reindeer Olga and Oskar (SEK 100/person); 13:00 Annual Meeting of the Swedish Sauna Academy; 14:00 welcome and short presentation; 14:15 "Sauna Talk", exciting conversations and discussions about sauna life; 17:00 sauna bathing in at least 12 different saunas and hot tubs, a dip in the Torne River, including the new Village Sauna that holds 80 people and the new Smoke Sauna; 18:00 musical entertainment and surprises; 19:00 outdoor dinner with delicacies from the Torne Valley; 19:30 more sauna and dips in the Torne River; 22:00 sausage grilling and sauna until the sun comes up (sponsored by Nord Chark). The seminar, sauna and dinner cost SEK 1,150/person. Sunday 15 June, 11:00–14:00: raft trip to Risto on the Finnish side with sauna and Finnish grilled sausage (SEK 750/person). Sauna Festival
Welcome to the first Sauna Festival, 26–27 August 2022. The Swedish Sauna Academy is organising a seminar and a workshop where we create the "optimal sauna".

Sauna Day 2020
The 23rd National Sauna Day 2020. When this was written we didn't quite know how things would turn out – it depended on the spread of infection. We followed the Public Health Agency's advice and recommendations.
Sauna Day 2021
The 24th National Sauna Day 2021 was moved to Saturday 14 August with a programme spanning the whole weekend. The number of participants was limited to a maximum of 50 in line with the Public Health Agency's recommendations.

The National Sauna Day 2023 set another record, with 93 registered and 91 attending. The National Sauna Day was celebrated for the 26th time.

Sauna Day 2025
The National Sauna Day 2025 and the Annual Meeting of the Swedish Sauna Academy. A record in the village sauna, a TV architect new to the board and the inauguration of the new smoke sauna – these were some of the ingredients of the celebration in the sauna village at Kukkolaforsen.
Sauna Congress 2022
The Swedish Sauna Academy attended the International Sauna Congress in Stuttgart, 24–27 October 2022, with five members of the board.
